It seems in New York double parking is a distinct form of entitlement that knows no bounds. Rich, not so rich , poor. Rolls Royce , UPS vehicles, clunkers, taxis, all piloted by people of different gender , size , color and nationality park when and where they want. I was headed down 5th Ave in heavy traffic in the left lane ready to make a left turn on 88th St. as I am entitled to by law. As I approach 88th St., parked defiantly dead square in front of me is a big ,black bloated Cadillac Escalade. And get this- no flashers. Not even a pretense of an emergency, or car trouble as an excuse to cover up the arrogance. I realize I am stuck behind this mook. What to do? I did what any civilized New Yorker would do. I took the high ground. Extended my hand with a protruding middle finger, bellowed my best obscenities and took off.
